First day trolling on Lake Michigan
With a week of high winds, I took the advantage of light winds Thursday to break in my new Mercury 6 horse kicker and was some spoons. After working the area I fished most of last year's Salmon-A-Rama with no avail, I poked out to 60fow. I spent a little while working a near by wreck and without any action I decided to turn west and head straight towards the Oak Creek Power Plant. Within a few minutes my fishing partner yelled "There's one!" I turned my head to see my outside board screaming back with an aerobatic steelhead behind it. This steelhead spent more time out of the water than in, and the time in the water he kept trying to go into my port side spread. After a 10min fight he was in the Frabil.
