

River Kings
Good news is the kings have shown up in the river. Even though we desperately need rain, the fish are on the move. I decided to stomp the river yesterday with a buddy and talk about finicky. It wasn't for the lack of kings but they wanted NOTHING to do with skein. But as soon as I put a orange 8mm Creek Candy Bead, they started to snap. For a total we landed two chinooks between 15 and 18lbs, a small 4/5lb brown trout and missed three other kings.

Saturday was a day for the record books on my buddies boat. Fishing started out slow off of the port of Racine but after we decided to leave the pack of boats to find non pressured fish, it paid off quickly. First to fire was the 3 color with a green ace silver horde J plug which yielded a 16lb female chinook.
