Saturday Morning Solo Run
Saturday morning I finally was able to get out early to get some morning darkness trolling in. After a few people said they rather sleep than go out at 0300 I casted lines and headed out to where I though the big kings were roaming. Luckily I was right. i started in 50fow with an 8 color and mag spoon and two dipsy divers with flasher fly combos. I was constantly marking fish from 50' out to 74' where my 8 color took off at 0400. After a 20min fight, the largest king year to

Steel, Steel and more Steel
This week has just been shy of outstanding! Despite a few days of high water on one river, low water on another and heavy foot pressure, it didn't stop the steelhead from biting. With my home river getting low and a hair clear, Creek Candy Beads were the trick the past two days, especially in the upper sections. Otherwise pink spawn sacs have done very well. I'm going to soak up more steelhead the rest of this week before the long truck to Alexandria Minnesota monday to pre f

Team Extreme Lake Menomin 2016

After holding the heater to my engine for an hour it finally decided to start and it was game on. Once out to the area we had pre fished, I noticed there was another team

Steelhead Smack Down
The past two days I spent on two different rivers with the guys from Trail Creek Guide Service and needless to say it was a BLAST! Wednesday we hit one of my favorite rivers in search for monster browns but thanks to the heavy foot traffic the ones we saw in the shallows were extremely spooked. We worked our way down river and Justin ended up with a steelhead and a brown in three drifts. After that spot we continued down river where Todd bowed up with a very nice steelhead on

First day trolling on Lake Michigan
With a week of high winds, I took the advantage of light winds Thursday to break in my new Mercury 6 horse kicker and was some spoons. After working the area I fished most of last year's Salmon-A-Rama with no avail, I poked out to 60fow. I spent a little while working a near by wreck and without any action I decided to turn west and head straight towards the Oak Creek Power Plant. Within a few minutes my fishing partner yelled "There's one!" I turned my head to see my outs
