January update
with only being a week into January, it has been extremely busy and only getting busier. Browns and steelhead have been tricky to find and catch in the harbors but getting off the beaten path in the rivers have been the trick. Friday, we only had one swing and miss with a shiner on an Automatic fisherman but took 4 fish (including one fully loaded female coho) and missed two others jigging. White tinsel jig was the star followed up by a Rapala Slab Rap. Saturday I ran my

June Bluegills
I got out yesterday morning with a buddy and his girlfriend on Wind Lake in search of some bluegills for a fish fry. The morning started off a little slow but it didn't take long to get dialed in. There were many triples and doubles throughout the day. We did some very selective harvesting and ended up with 20 bluegills between 7 and 8.5''. Joe and Taylor had a blast fighting these big bull gills on my 13 Fishing Ambition rods. With the water temp at 71 i figured the blu

Bluegill Bonanza
Today I made it out to a local inland lake with an old timer I fish with in search for bluegills and it was some of the fastest bluegill action I've ever seen. Between the two of us in 5 hours, we caught well over 100 bluegills and kept 38 between 7.5 and 9''. In addition to the bluegills we also landed a handful of bonus bass. I still have openings this month to get on this action. Don't forget this is a great way to get you kids into fishing. To book a trip click on th

White bass to bluegills
This past weekend I finally got to drop my new to me 19' sylvan in the water. Sunday I met up with a buddy on the rock river in search of white bass and walleyes. We motored from Fort Atkinson to Jefferson and started lighting up the white bass. Small minnows under a slip bobber and working the edge of the current was the trick. It was a blast fighting them on my 13Fishing Ambition rods. I decided to start casting a tandem jig and plastic set up on my 13Fishing Muse and all I

Minnesota Ice Fishing Trip
Monday March 7th, my partner and I wheeled it close to 500 miles to Alexandria Minnesota to start pre fishing for the Team Extreme Nationals. We had heard chatter about the tournament possibly being cancelled due to bad ice and a week forecast of 50 degree temps. Tuesday we started on Lake Mary where I found one suspended crappie in 35fow. After a few hours I decided it was time to load the wheeler and check out the south end of the lake. Once we got to the boat launch we ran

From pan fish to steelhead
This past weekend was full of high's and low's. Friday while pre fishing in 50mph winds I did more chasing down my ATV than actual fishing which made it a pretty short day. Saturday we decided to pre fish the south end of Delavan lake and it seemed like we couldn't do anything wrong while catching large 13'' crappies and 8-9'' bluegills and a slob of a pumpkinseed. Despite blue bird skies and a warm up fishing actually became stupid as for how active the gills and crappies we

NAIFC Lake Maxinkuckee IN
My first NAIFC tournament was definitely a learning experience. Pre fishing lead to be a tough struggle trying to find any decent bluegills. After cover all of the safe ice and weed beds I could find, all we found were small perch, small bluegills and a lot of large mouth bass. Sunday morning while we were launching I decided to pack in with the crowd on one weed bed that seemed to hold all of the big bluegills and crappies. Even though the bite was extremely tough, I was

Team Extreme Lake Menomin 2016
This past weekend kicked off the Team Extreme (WI) Ice Series on Lake Menomin. Just like last year it was a cold one! Pre fishing went great and I had my game plan set by noon on Saturday. Sunday morning with -17 degrees started off rough. When temps are that cold my four wheeler does NOT like to play nice. After holding the heater to my engine for an hour it finally decided to start and it was game on. Once out to the area we had pre fished, I noticed there was another team
