Bluegill Beat Down

I know it's been a while since my last post but I've been busy between fine tuning my tournament techniques and working. But good news is the bluegill bite is on fire along with some dandy crappies coming topside. small tungsten jigs tipped with one or two spikes worked over weeds in 5-7fow have been the ticket for the gills. Crappies have been crushing larger tungsten jigs and plastics suspended over small basins. As for ice thickness, it has been ranging from 7-11'' with an occasional bad patch of 2-4''. If you on your wheeler or sled and see a patch of ice that doesn't look good, get off and check it, it's better to be safe than sorry.

Good news with the warm up headed towards us is the rivers should open up fairly quickly and I project being on them mid next week. Also with the warm temps ahead of us will make for some outstanding boat fishing on Lake Michigan before the next round of cold weather. If you would like to get out for a trip give me a call or send me a message. Dates are filling up quickly and as of right now I have no open weekends for the from the end of January till the end of February due to the NAIFC Circuit.
