Last ice trip of the season
Saturday i had the pleasure of running the last ice trip of the year in McKinley Marina. The goal was to get my client on a bunch of steelhead but the brown trout had other ideas. I ran every close to every rod in the top 6' of water with a mix of shiners and spawn sacs on. it didn't take long after setting up for the first automatic fisherman to pop off with a very nice 12lb brown. While my client was fighting that one, I looked up and a second automatic was on the verge

Weekly Review 12-27-15
This past week started off red hot (view red hot steelhead article). But it didn't take long for all the rivers to flood out again. As of yesterday 12-26, both the Root and Milwaukee were blown out and the Oak Creek was extremely low. I spent the afternoon walking the Oak Creek with the fly rod and missed one buck brown and heard of a few other fish on beds but overall it was extremely slow. Christmas Day on the other hand I decided to take the boat out of McKlinley Marin

Rivers and harbors
After a hectic two weeks, I was finally able to spend some time on the Milwaukee River Saturday. The first spot I hit produced a spunky steelhead and a big buck coho (both on spawn sacs). Sunday after spending the morning in the woods and not seeing anything I headed down to Racine to meet up with Jacek of team Jacek and Zibi for some harbor brown trout fishing. At our first spot I missed two takedowns with a bobber and spawn. After an hour or so we decided to move spots.
