Saturday June 3rd kicked off my tournament season with the SU Open out of Racine WI. After making a run to water that I knew held quality brown trout, we started setting lines and before I could get the down rigger in, we doubled up on leadcore landing two 3-4lb browns. After two more passes we had 5 fish including a 12lb Brown. I decided to pull lines and run to deeper water in search of coho, lake trout and chinooks. After the 30min run we got lines back in the water and it didn’t take long to double up on cohos. Knowing we would need extra weight for our last 3 fish, I decided to deploy my laker rigs which yielded a 12lb lake trout and two 4-5lb lakers. With a massive storm barreling down on us I decided to pull lines and run back to Racine to call it a day but that was after we tripled up in the last 5mins. Overall the three of us went 12 for 14 in 3hrs of fishing and our ten biggest weighed in at 57.2lbs. Not good enough for a money placement but it was my new high score.
