White bass to bluegills

April 26, 2016

This past weekend I finally got to drop my new to me 19' sylvan in the water. Sunday I met up with a buddy on the rock river in search of white bass and walleyes. We motored from Fort Atkinson to Jefferson and started lighting up the white bass. Small minnows under a slip bobber and working the edge of the current was the trick. It was a blast fighting them on my 13Fishing Ambition rods. I decided to start casting a tandem jig and plastic set up on my 13Fishing Muse and all I can say is WOW! I love this rod! It's light weight and super sensitive with a very soft tip. That day we ended up a mess of white bass and one keeper sauger. Monday I took an old timer I fish the rivers with to Wind

lake in search of pre spawn bluegills. We started out with rocket bobbers and jigs in the shallows and picked up a few very nice gills. After moving around a little I found the best depths were 3-6fow. The second area we fished was the last spot. I first ended up tying into a small snake northern pike while jigging an Impulse jig on the Muse. That was one of the funnest fights I've had in a while. I then slide down the lake to where I did very well early ice and it was lights out. We had multiple doubles and triples. After 5hrs of fishing we ended up with 34 keeper gills, 1 was over 9'', 25 were 8-9'' and the rest were 7.5".
